I’m a firm believer in properly accounting for business activities. I’ve used QuickBooks since it was first introduced as a DOS based program in the early 1990’s. I’m an Advanced QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor and I’ve taught classes on how to use the system to help make smart business decisions.
How can this work for you? I recently helped one company restructure three years of their QuickBooks data to properly reflect their operations. After completing the accounting we amended the three years of tax returns and they received approximately $75,000 in refunds to the two owners.
In another company a year earlier we did the same thing and the owner received about $45,000 in refunds. Both companies had their tax returns prepared by CPA’s, but in both cases the CPA did not adequately understand QuickBooks and in both cases they also made glaring errors in the tax returns.
